Foster
What does it mean to be a rescue foster parent?
A foster is someone willing to open their heart and home to a pet in need temporarily until the fur baby can be permanently adopted. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a shelter or facility for our pets. We rely on our team of foster families to provide love, cuddles, security, and interim housing until our furry friends find their furever homes. We hope that our animals will be able to begin the process of adjusting to the happy, healthy lives they deserve as soon as they enter their foster homes.
As a foster, you’ll be welcoming this pet into your pack. It may take time and patience to help your foster friend gain trust and become socialized, but they must try their best to learn. It’s a big responsibility, but you’re not in this alone. We are here to help, and as a foster, you’ll have access to the following:
Supplies
FDR can help with pet beds, cat litter, food, treats, toys, collars, leashes, and most other supplies needed. We want to ensure our fosters have the right tools and supplies to best support their foster friends. Support us through Chewy.com.
Vet Care
FDR will cover all vetting expenses for your foster. We work with several local veterinary clinics in the area. Your vetting responsibility is to transport your foster to and from appointments.
FDR Foster Facebook
FDR's team is here to support you! All fosters have access to FDR's private volunteer Facebook group to stay up to date on news, events, and all things rescue. Chat with other fosters and staff and share the adorable antics of your foster pets.
